Pool Design Software and 3D Renderings, Explained

Part 3 of 10: Pool Ownership 101

A rendering is a communication tool, not a guarantee, and knowing the difference saves a disagreement later. Gleannloch Farms routes pool and backyard plans through its HOA architectural review, and golf-course-adjacent lots there need drainage planned so runoff moves correctly relative to the course, both addressed in the design step.

What Renderings Get Right

Modern pool design software accurately represents shape, rough proportions, feature placement, and general materials/color, which makes it genuinely useful for confirming a design direction before construction starts, far better than a flat 2D drawing for most homeowners to visualize.

What They Can't Promise

Exact lighting conditions, water color under real sun versus rendered light, and precise material texture can all look different in person than in a rendering; renderings are a planning tool for layout and scope, not a photorealistic guarantee of the finished product's exact appearance.
